A Documentary by Bani Singh

Soon after Partition, newly independent India defeats England to win the hockey Gold at the 1948 London Olympic Games. Six decades later, Nandy Singh of this winning team suffers a stroke. His grit to recover inspires his daughter, Bani Singh, the director of the film, to retrace his life. Her search for him morphs into a quest for the lost ‘watan’(homeland).◊

The main title of the documentary was one of the important elements to position its story as about homeland & passion. It needed a very emotional connection even to modern India. I hand draw the type and created a texture of chalk which is typically used earlier in hockey games as well as childhood school.
